This is Why It's Important To Listen

This blog is not and never has been a secret. I've actually never kept my blog a secret from any man ever. It is my social media handle, I post the stuff I write on main, and I talk to everyone in it about it. Yet, without fail, every man featured in it doesn't read it until I've started showing signs of resentment towards them. I send them excerpts that I think they'll like, I do them the respect of not using their real names (until I despise them and they become "some men"), and I even post on main when I publish. Still, they are so caught up in their imagination about what I think that they miss the personal essay telling them.

Ranger somehow stomachs all of them now, but not without calling me to complain. The blogs are great if you're proud of your work. Hamoodi has never not been proud of his work. I doubt he ever will. He knows himself too well to be uncomfortable with being scrutinized. He is aware of his faults and of his flaws and of his perfections. He is proud of them all. Matthew Zeitoun is perhaps the strongest of my soldiers because he lets me use his full government name. He also even posts the pieces with him in them on his story. He really matches my freak. $@719 has heeded my warning with care. When he sees me in the street, he does NOT talk to me. As directed. Others have not been so graceful about their fall from my good graces. I feel no guilt. I have been honest and forthcoming. More than honest and forthcoming though, I feel I have been fair and just. No one is treated better or worse by me. All of the animals on Iman’s Little Article Farm are fed, sheltered, and groomed equally. Iman’s Little Article Farm is an equal opportunity employer. What you put in is what you get out.

I'm inspired to blog about this because another of my creations has come to me with grievances. Alas, I have blessed them with free will. How they use it is not for me to dictate. I just wonder if God feels similarly when he's spoken clearly and we don't listen. What do you mean you're just now reading my blog? You read the play I wrote about the first ever post you got on my blog months ago! I've sent you excerpts! Is it hollow up there? My mother would feel qualm about me saying “is it hollow up there?”. She encourages me to be a gentle teacher, but in this instance, I'm low on gentleness. Anyway, I write this all to lead up to my final statement in this post. A clear and concise mission for this blog.

Iman's Little Blog is an accountability tool for myself as I navigate new relationships as an autistic person who has devoted their life to their art. Most of the posts are about romantic relationships because most of my friends have been my friends for over a decade and there isn't much to say about developing those relationships. Some posts have been about my new friends, but I'm not very friendly. If you interact with me, I will write about you. If you are an artist, I will write about you using your name unless otherwise directed. If you are a civilian, you will get a fake name. If you don't want to be written about, say that and I will not publish stuff with you!
