Is That So Bad?

Iman: You love me
Hamoodi: Of course I do
But getting me to keep saying it isn't good for either of us. You understand the implications of it, right?
Iman: what are the implications?
Hamoodi: that I drop everything and marry you
Why? Why is that the implication? Why can't it just be that I love him and he loves me and we relish in that? Isn't it disrespectful to Allah to not acknowledge the love he gives us?
Iman: is that so bad?
I knew already what he would say. That it's "the opposite" or something of the sort. Like $@719's fateful "I don't hate you, it's the opposite". The eastern man Uno reverse for emotion.
Hamoodi: quite the opposite actually
There's more, but I won't share it. It's private between the two of us and Hamoodi might say. I just wonder...when did my life become written by the Brontë sisters? Why can't brown men let themselves be cared for?
