Deja Vu

I think “Deja Vu” is one of the few Beyoncé songs that I really love. It's fun, it has a funky instrumental, and the performance for it is always so cool. I usually only see “Deja Vu”, written out when I type it into Apple Music. However, this week, someone sent me that phrase twice. They told me that I give them a strange sense of “Deja Vu”. I don’t know how to say that he's not the only person that feels that way about me without making him less unsettled, so as usual, I'm typing it here.

“Deja Vu?” Brittyn tried to furrow her botoxed brows.

“Yeah…idk what to say because men are usually spiritually asleep” I replied as I drew my bath.

“Ughhh why are they like this?” She groaned.

“I zo nawt knzowww” I laughed. “I mean you know I believe Deja Vu is a sign from the higher power that you're on the right life path”

“Exactly” Brittyn agreed. “But a man could never know that without a loootttt of help.”

“It's so sad for them. It must be really hard for them to get through life because they miss so many signs from God” I said downtroddenly.

Brittyn took a deep breath and started cracking up. “Egggzzaacctly” she breathed out between wheezes.

Maybe it's easier for them though because God just gives up on speaking to most of them?

I think it's a miracle when a man can obey God and hear his guidance because men are such mules. Most woman would simply hit search on Google and find that pretty much every belief system has the same explanations for Deja Vu and allow themselves the realizations that come with it:

Islamically

  • Recognition of Souls (Ruh) from Alam-e-Arwah: A popular interpretation, often supported by Islamic scholars referencing a Hadith, is that souls are created before physical bodies. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: "Souls are like crowds (or soldiers) which gather together. The ones who met before (in the spiritual realm) get along well, and the ones who did not meet before, cannot get along very well and separate". Therefore, a feeling of déjà vu may be a "whispering of the soul" recognizing another soul it interacted with in the realm of spirits.

  • Divine Decree (Qadr): Some scholars suggest that déjà vu occurs when your present reality perfectly aligns with what was already written for you in the Lawh al-Mahfuzh (Preserved Tablet). This provides a sense of peace or familiarity, indicating you are exactly where you are destined to be.

  • A "True Dream" Recall: Déjà vu might be a memory of a dream you previously had that was a true vision from Allah. When the event happens in real life, your mind recognizes it.

  • Signs from the Heart (Qalb): Sometimes the heart recognizes a moment before the eyes do, serving as a reminder or a signal to pay attention to a situation or person, or as a confirmation of a destined path

All of these are cool and comforting things to me.🙇🏽‍♀️. Why are men so unsettled by spirituality? Is it because God made them less capable? Not being mean. Genuine question. This guy said he's not very spiritual which I think is ironic because Allah quickly gave him a reason to reconsider. That's how I see it anyway. I wonder how he'll end up interpreting it in the end.

Curiouser and curiouser

Update:

I have been told that the feeling is "borderline suspicious and unsettling". Humbling

What does this mean? Am I really unsettling and suspicious?

Dani says "What the fuck??? He’s lik fully just projecting"

Brittyn says "I think he's sensing your soul ties, but also men aren't really capable of that, so I don't know"

Morgan says "don't answer that. Just block"

Yousef says "astaghfirrullah"

Matthew says:

I say "what am I supposed to learn from this?" I definitely don't bring any mysterious or suspicious vibes because I literally cannot stfu to save my life. However, Allah (SWT) is always teaching me. What is this one about?
